Cat Clapping AI is an independent AI video tool for making your own pet's version of the cat clapping meme. You upload a photo of your cat, dog or other pet, and optionally one of yourself, and get a short vertical video of your pet taking a treat, standing up, grinning with human teeth and slowly clapping with human hands. The site is run by the Cat Clapping AI team, and you can reach us at [email protected].
Why We Built It
The cat clapping meme started with one black cat, and soon people wanted the same slow, sarcastic applause from their own pets: cats of every color, dogs and more. Doing that by hand means writing a routine for an AI video model and getting the grin, the hands and the claps right. We wanted it to take one photo and a few minutes instead.
How It Works
Each video is made with Seedance 2.0 Mini, ByteDance's reference-to-video model, which we run through an AI video API. The model gets your photo, or your two photos, plus a written routine that follows the meme's beats: the treat, the stand-up, the human grin, the slow claps and the "shh". The video isn't cut from the original clip. Your pet keeps its own fur color, markings and eye color, and only the grin and the hands are added.
You get a vertical 9:16 MP4 in 720p with quiet room sound and loud claps, usually in about 3–4 minutes. A video costs one credit per second (6, 10 or 15 credits), and if a render fails we retry it once for free and then return the credits automatically. More detail is in the step-by-step guide.
Not Affiliated with the Meme's Creator or the Platforms
Cat Clapping AI is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Aleksandr Kim (@merkurianin), who posted the original clip, or by Instagram, Meta, TikTok or ByteDance. Example clips on the site are other creators' posts, credited under each video.
Using It Responsibly
Only upload photos you own or have permission to use. Anyone shown in a photo must be 18 or older and must have agreed to be in the video, and photos of celebrities or public figures aren't allowed. When you share your clip, say that it's AI-generated.
